Tried and Tested
Each batch of cold processed soap is cured at least 5- 6 weeks and tested . I personally test 3 bars from each batch with a drop of distilled water and litmus paper. The reading must have a ph of 8-9.
I've have know people to test the readiness by touching the bar with their tongue to see if it stings. This doesn't seems to be sanitary or scientific to me.
To test my hot processed bars I look for a 10 ph. The cure time is less than cold because of a faster gel phase and more water is cooked from the product.
The cure time for hot process soap depends upon how hard you like soap.
